Floss threaders for braces are designed to make flossing easier. Thankfully, they work without a time-consuming and cumbersome floss threader! The rounded end of the floss threader is thin enough to go underneath your main wires, while the fuzzy end is perfect for cleaning around the brackets. Floss threaders are much easier and quicker than the typical string of floss and threader method. Just be sure to angle the floss around the tooth on both sides as you go.

Water Flossers

Water flossers might be a bit more costly, but they are easy and effective. Most water flossers come with a tip that is made especially for people with braces. Follow the instructions that come with your water flosser, ensuring that you lean over the sink and keep your mouth mostly closed while you floss. Simply follow the gum line around each tooth with the water flosser, pausing at the spaces, to thoroughly clean between your teeth. 

Electric Toothbrush

Studies have shown that oscillating electric toothbrushes can reduce 20% more plaque than a manual toothbrush. Plus, they are fun to use! Electric toothbrushes offer a staggering 2500 to 7500 strokes per minute while maintaining the gentleness required for both your braces and your sensitive gums. Electric braces are especially good at removing food and plaque where there is crowding of the teeth–which is typical of people with braces. If you want to make a huge impact on your dental hygiene, getting a good electric toothbrush and using it after every meal is the way to go!
