For our patients who are seeking a less conspicuous orthodontic option, we are thrilled to offer Invisalign Teen®. This cutting-edge alternative to traditional braces lets adolescents straighten their teeth without metal wires and brackets, so they can smile confidently throughout their treatment.

Only Fine-Tuned Just For Teenagers
Invisalign Teen® is tailored specifically for the adolescent lifestyle. It incorporates features that accommodate growing mouths, such as compliance indicators – the blue dots on the aligners that fade with wear, helping to monitor usage. Understanding that teens lead active lives, we provide up to six replacement aligners at no additional cost, just in case any go missing or are damaged. Additionally, aligners come with unique eruption tabs that preserve space for teeth that are still coming in, making Invisalign Teen® a truly adaptive and flexible treatment option.
No Foods are Off-Limits &
Oral Hygiene is Easy
One of the biggest advantages of Invisalign Teen® is the freedom it offers. Since the aligners are removable, there are zero food restrictions. Whether it’s biting into an apple, enjoying corn on the cob, or savoring sticky candies, teens can relish their favorite treats without worry. Oral hygiene is also simplified – the aligners can be easily removed for thorough brushing and flossing, promoting healthy teeth and gums without the hassle of navigating around braces.
Special Events? No Problem!
Invisalign Teen® is designed for minimal interference with a teen’s active social life. For pivotal moments – be it a prom photo, playing a wind instrument at a band concert, or speaking at a debate competition – the aligners can be temporarily removed, ensuring that nothing gets in the way of life’s big events. Despite this flexibility, we recommend wearing the aligners for a minimum of 22 hours a day to ensure the effectiveness of the treatment – even during sleep.

How Invisalign Teen Works
- Wear each set of aligners for about two weeks.
- Wear the aligners at least 22 hours each day.
- Remove the aligners only to eat, drink, brush, and floss.
- Visit your Orland Park orthodontist every 8 to 10 weeks.
- Total treatment time averages between 6 and 15 months.
- Average number of aligners is between 18 and 30.

What to Expect
The first step in finding out if Invisalign Teen is the right treatment option for you is to visit us so Dr. Sonneveld can examine your teeth to see if you have a problem that Invisalign Teen can treat. If you can be treated with clear aligners, we’ll take some photos of your teeth so we can create 3D images of them using our specialized computer software. Once that’s done, Dr. Sonneveld will carefully devise your treatment plan. He’ll then send all the information off to Align Technology, the makers of Invisalign to have your aligners made. Once your aligners arrive at our office, we’ll ask you to come in so you can start your treatment.
